A Conscientious Team Player with a passion for Challenge
Andrew Kelley is a post-production sound specialist with career interests in the crafts of editing, mixing, and producing sound in post. Since before his academics began at AAU, Kelley has strived to thoroughly learn the art of sound, to learn the inner details within digital audio workstations, and to master the logistics of audio engineering. This portfolio accurately demonstrates his professional skills through focused dialog, sound effects, synthesis, music, and video editing. Learning how to manage and organize Pro Tools sessions was a real joy, challenge, and thrill for Kelley at AAU. In addition, managing sound under the directors of a wide range of projects gave Kelley a great deal of personal satisfaction which he only hopes to attain in a professional environment. BFA SOUND DESIGN, ACADEMY OF ART UNIVERSITY
It was at my time with AAU that I learned how to work with professional visual development teams to work post-production and production sound on various types of projects such as animation sound, production and post sound for film, and video game sound design. Through AAU I gained my Certification in ProTools, and learned the workflow when working with others in a ProTools environment.

AA FILMMAKING, COLLEGE OF THE CANYONS
Working with the film department taught me to compromise when working on film sets, and the value of having a roadmap when directing projects. It was at COC that I found myself taking the paths less traveled, where I eventually ended up working mix board, and editing sound for Cougar News.

OFF TO CARE
In this short film, directed by Jack Scano, Andrew has fully utilized his skills as an audio editor, to remove a nearly disastrous amount if background noise from the location sound recording. Utilizing RX7, and with a turn around of merely 12 hours, Andrew was capable of editing, mixing, and mastering this Graduate student's film project in record time!
Considered his "Magnum Opus" for his time at AAU, Andrew spent well over half a year as the short film animation's resident sound designer, and audio engineer. What started as an unorganized ProTools session, with minimal editing, and lacking sound, turned into a work of art ahead of the animation team. This was surely a strong collaborative project between the animation department and sound team!
Hired on as a Re-Recording Mix Engineer, Andrew worked closely both with the film's director and composer, to polish the existing sound work. It was his job, to ensure every piece of media in the Session was in sync, and at appropriate amplitude to produce a very strong backing to the film's story.
A personal piece, from his band, Buried Alice. Acting as the synth, bass guitar player, and producer, Andrew demonstrates his skills in both crafting a video to accompany the macabre song, and as a music producer, and mix engineer. (J. Krueger on Guitar, A. Morales on Vocals).
A STEAK DINNER
Produced in the early hours of a night in Raleigh, Andrew slaved in front of a hot oven, to produce a silent film. In post, Andrew then completely restructured and mixed in his own produced sound design clips, to make the silent piece come to life.
A bizarre piece, set in the surreal collaborate effort by 4 other sound designers, Andrew took it upon himself to craft a video to match the mood of the soundtrack, by taking video elements from the last 4 years of his life, and testing his computer's CPU through strenuous Adobe Premiere video effects.
